At a glance

“Intelligent Gateway based on KNX and Zigbee protocols is an excellent solution for integrating VingCard door locks (using Zigbee protocol) with KNX/IP networks in hotels and KNX-based buildings. This device connects Vingcard and KNX systems as a gateway, enabling the transfer and conversion of information between their respective protocols. Additionally, it sends event reports to Vingcard and KNX servers (group monitoring). The device also supports a unique IP address, facilitating connectivity to the local network via wired or wireless (Wi-Fi) communication.

The primary objective of integrating these systems is to enhance the security of the KNX system with standard KNX components and align room control with Vingcard EMI events. Besides security, predefined scenarios can be defined when the door status changes. One of the most interesting scenarios is a predefined welcome scenario, activated when guests enter the room for the first time, helping them quickly become familiar with the room environment and hotel services.

Software features

“Transferring Vingcard door lock events to the Visionline server. Executing KNX scenarios locally based on door events. Providing a unique IP address for each room on the local wired or wireless network. Registering all desired status information and communications. Decision-making regarding specific events and execution of predefined scenarios on the BMS network. Utilizing the advantages of the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud-based communication for configuration, updates, and data exchange. A secure operating system. A secure web interface for parameter configuration and feature selection. A type 2 knowledge-based product.”

Hardware features

“Safe wired/wireless connection to the BMS network. Wired network connections (Ethernet 10/100) and wireless connections (WiFi). Wireless connection (ZigBee) to the door lock and other ZigBee devices. Ability to bridge between two Ethernet and/or WiFi with DHCP configuration.”
